 Mr. Mike Veron
Chairman and Organizer
 

Veron is a law partner at Veron, Bice, Palermo & Wilson, where he specializes in commercial litigation. A native of Lake Charles, he earned advanced degrees from Tulane and Harvard University before returning to his hometown in 1976 to practice law. He is a longtime member of the Lake Charles Country Club and served as chairman for the St. Louis Catholic High School Capital Campaign, which raised $3.4 million for capital improvements to the area’s only Catholic High School. Veron, who has remained consistently active in civic life, also led governmental efforts to recognize native heart surgeon Dr. Michael DeBakey.

During Veron’s tenure at a previous law firm, he was among the original shareholders when the firm helped charter a federal bank. Veron is also the author of several books and novels.

 
Mr. Joe Thomas
Director and Organizer

Thomas founded Resin Systems, where he remains as company chairman. He is a native of Lake Charles and attended McNeese State University and Oklahoma State University, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Lt.Colonel. 
 
Mrs. Willie Landry Mount

Director and Organizer
 

Mount is a former small business owner, Lake Charles mayor and Louisiana State Senator. A Lake Charles native, Mount earned a degree in business administration from McNeese State University and served as mayor of Lake Charles for seven years before being elected to the Senate, where she served three terms. As State Senator, she held several leadership posts, including chairwoman of the Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Committee and the Health and Welfare Committee.

Mount has consistently remained active in civic life. She founded the Louisiana Lung Cancer Partnership, is past-president of the Louisiana Conference of Mayors and served on the executive boards of the Louisiana Municipal Association and Council for a Better Louisiana. Mount currently serves on the McNeese State University Foundation board, the CHRISTUS-St. Patrick Board of Counselors and the Alzheimer’s Association State Board. She previously served on the United Way Community Foundation, Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana board and the United Methodist Foundation.


Mr. Robert Piper

Director and Organizer, Vice Chairman
 From 2000-2005, Piper was president and CEO of US Unwired Inc., a publicly traded wireless personal communications company with about $500 million in annual revenue, 500,000 customers and 1,000 employees at its peak. Piper assisted with various hurricane relief efforts in the latter part of 2005 and currently serves as the executive administrator for Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church. 
 
Mr. David Trahan
Director and Organizer
Trahan currently owns and operates his family’s clothing business. He served as director for a state- chartered bank in Lake Charles for 12 years and participated in the director’s loan committee. He resigned to pursue the charter for Lakeside. Trahan, a Louisiana native, has lived in Lake Charles for 35 years. He attended USL (now ULL of Lafayette). In addition to overseeing the family business, Trahan has analyzed and invested in commercial real estate for the last 30 years. 
 
Mr. Willie Staats
Director
 

Staats is a faculty member of the Graduate School of Banking at LSU, the LSU Executive Program, the American Bankers Association Graduate School of Compliance Management and several state banking schools. Staats is also director of the Farm Credit Bank of Texas, a $13.5 billion agricultural lending network, and chairman of the board of Seven Oaks Capital Associates, LLC, a working capital finance company serving the trucking industry nationwide. He also serves as chairman of Platinum Healthcare Staffing, vice chairman of the Audit Committee of the Farm Credit System, and board member of Money Management International.

Staats was founder of New Braunfels National Bank in New Braunfels, Texas, and served as vice chairman of the board of directors. He was also named by the FDIC to the board of the nation's first bridge bank and was an original director of Staats, Falkenberg & Partners. Before joining the faculty at LSU, Staats was vice president and corporate secretary of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. He has been a member of the faculty at Rice University and at The University of Texas, where he received his doctorate degree.

 
Mr. Bill Roberts

Director
 

Roberts has 30 years of banking experience and served on several loan, audit and banking committees. He currently works as administrator of a CPA firm. Roberts was raised in Lake Charles, where he attended McNeese State University. He is a graduate of the Banking School of the South.

Mr. Morgan "Mike" Harmison

President, Chief Executive Officer

Mike is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and has lived in Lake Charles since 1965. He became our President and CEO in 2011. 

Mike has over 46 years of experience in Southwest Louisiana community banks, working in a variety of positions, including consumer finance manager, loan administrator, chief lending office, and executive vice president. He served in key leadership positions at Lakeside National Bank, Cameron State Bank and Iberiabank before joining the new Lakeside team.


 

Mr. James Boyer

Director

Boyer, a Southwest Louisiana native, is currently a partner with Southland Capital, a real estate development firm. He holds an undergraduate degree in general business, as well as a Masters in Business Administration, from Louisiana State University.

Before joining Southland Capital, Boyer worked for Merrill Lynch for 32 years, managing the local office for nearly 20 years.

Mr. Keith Duplechin

Director

Duplechin, a lifelong resident of Southwest Louisiana and a graduate of McNeese State University, is the co-owner of AdSource and Realty Source. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Lake Charles Country Club and is a past vice president of the Pioneer Club. Duplechin is also a past member of the local board of directors for Women and Children’s Hospital and the Louisiana Blood Center board of directors.
