Veron is a law partner at Veron, Bice, Palermo & Wilson, where he specializes in commercial litigation. A native of Lake Charles, he earned advanced degrees from Tulane and Harvard University before returning to his hometown in 1976 to practice law. He is a longtime member of the Lake Charles Country Club and served as chairman for the St. Louis Catholic High School Capital Campaign, which raised $3.4 million for capital improvements to the area’s only Catholic High School. Veron, who has remained consistently active in civic life, also led governmental efforts to recognize native heart surgeon Dr. Michael DeBakey.
During Veron’s tenure at a previous law firm, he was among the original shareholders when the firm helped charter a federal bank. Veron is also the author of several books and novels.
Flanagan, who has 47 years of banking experience, was an organizer, president and CEO of Lakeside National Bank in Lake Charles for 37 years. Since his retirement in 1995, he has invested in various commercial businesses. He currently serves as vice chairman of SCORE in Lake Charles and has served on numerous community committees. Flanagan has also served as president of the Lake Charles Chamber of Commerce, president of the United Way, campaign chairman for the United Way, and board member for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s New Orleans branch. He has also been honored as the Lake Charles Citizen of the Year.
Flanagan is a native of Texas, where he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from Rice and an MBA in statistics from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mount is a former small business owner, Lake Charles mayor and Louisiana State Senator. A Lake Charles native, Mount earned a degree in business administration from McNeese State University and served as mayor of Lake Charles for seven years before being elected to the Senate, where she served three terms. As State Senator, she held several leadership posts, including chairwoman of the Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Committee and the Health and Welfare Committee.
Mount has consistently remained active in civic life. She founded the Louisiana Lung Cancer Partnership, is past-president of the Louisiana Conference of Mayors and served on the executive boards of the Louisiana Municipal Association and Council for a Better Louisiana. Mount currently serves on the McNeese State University Foundation board, the CHRISTUS-St. Patrick Board of Counselors and the Alzheimer’s Association State Board. She previously served on the United Way Community Foundation, Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana board and the United Methodist Foundation.
Staats is a faculty member of the Graduate School of Banking at LSU, the LSU Executive Program, the American Bankers Association Graduate School of Compliance Management and several state banking schools. Staats is also director of the Farm Credit Bank of Texas, a $13.5 billion agricultural lending network, and chairman of the board of Seven Oaks Capital Associates, LLC, a working capital finance company serving the trucking industry nationwide. He also serves as chairman of Platinum Healthcare Staffing, vice chairman of the Audit Committee of the Farm Credit System, and board member of Money Management International.
Staats was founder of New Braunfels National Bank in New Braunfels, Texas, and served as vice chairman of the board of directors. He was also named by the FDIC to the board of the nation's first bridge bank and was an original director of Staats, Falkenberg & Partners. Before joining the faculty at LSU, Staats was vice president and corporate secretary of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. He has been a member of the faculty at Rice University and at The University of Texas, where he received his doctorate degree.
